Got a secret, can you keep it? The Pretty Little Liars reboot is starting to take shape, as the upcoming HBO Max series has found its first two leads.

Deadline reports that Chandler Kinney and Maia Reficco are slated to star in the reimagined version of Sara Shepard’s bestselling book series, called Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, which is being brought to life by Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Also at work on the future production is CAOS’s Lindsay Calhoon Bring, Warner Bros TV, and Alloy Entertainment, with Lisa Soper slated to direct the first two episodes.

According to Deadline, Chandler will play aspiring director and horror movie aficionado Tabby, who is harboring plenty of secrets and lies à la the iconic Alison DiLaurentis (and, well, all of the original Liars). Maia will portray Noa, a track star who spent a summer in juvenile detention. We’re getting Emily Fields vibes from this description!

The PLL reboot is planning to begin production later this summer, and will feature a darker, present-day iteration of Shepard’s iconic story — this time, set in the small “blue-collar town” of Millwood, where tragedy left a shadow over its community nearly two decades ago. At the center of the story is an all-new group of Liars, who continue to be plagued by the past actions of their parents, and find themselves at the heart of danger under the eye of a mysterious villain — a brand-new “A,” if you will.

There’s still no word on whether or not any of the original Liars (or the Perfectionists characters) will make an appearance, but in the PLL world, we know that anything is possible. Get ready for a whole lot more “shhhh.”
