Details Behind a Facebook Fight That Tragically Escalated to a Man’s Death

What we know about the disturbing beating that killed Andre Jackson.

Chicago Police are investigating the specifics of a Facebook feud that resulted in the fatal beating of 23-year-old Andre Jackson.

Lithia Henderson, 41, Marshalla Kelly, 23, and Marshall L. Henderson, 21, (pictured above from left to right) are being charged with the murder of Jackson.

Over the past several months, Jackson and the boyfriend of Kelly engaged in a Facebook argument over their respective girlfriends. On August 4, Jackson and his friend, 20, traveled to West Garfield Park to confront the unidentified man who he’d had the dispute with.

When Jackson and his friend arrived, they met with the man as well as the three suspects. A physical fight immediately broke out between Jackson and the man, but Marshall Henderson soon jumped in, as well as Jackson’s friend.

It was around this time that Lithia Henderson began striking Jackson with a metal baseball bat. Kelly joined in and started hitting him with a broom handle. The broom handle eventually broke, and Kelly retrieved a 2x4 block and tried to hit Jackson with it. Marshall Henderson then took the block from her and started hitting Jackson.

Lithia Henderson captured the final moments on the beating on film until Jackson and his friend managed to get away. Jackson and his friend were unarmed during the fight.

The two phoned 911 and Jackson was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. His friend was treated for minor injuries, while Jackson was treated for severe head injuries. Jackson was pronounced dead on August 9 and his death was ruled a homicide.

Both Hendersons and Kelly appeared in court Sunday, where a judge set bail at $900,000 for each of them, according to Cook County state’s attorney office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton.

The three are slated to appear again in court Sept. 2.
