Vin Diesel Posts Emotional Message To Paul Walker About 'The Fate Of The Furious'

‘I promised you we would make something you would be proud of, and I pray that we have’

In 2002, Paul Walker and Vin Diesel took home the MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Duo for their work in The Fast and the Furious, a movie fueled by big emotions and sky-high ambition. Little did we know of the indomitable brotherhood Walker and Diesel would form over the years as they strapped into their cars and hit the gas on one of the most successful and entertaining franchises of all time.

Twelve years later, the brothers would take home that same honor at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. However, this time it was different. Walker had been killed in a single-vehicle car crash a few months prior. The brotherhood was broken — but not gone. Since Walker's death in 2013, the cast of The Fast and the Furious have taken every opportunity to honor his legacy.

Now, given the rapturous reaction to the Fate of the Furious trailer — which officially broke the worldwide record as the most-watched trailer in its first 24 hours — producer-star Diesel is taking some time to thank his "brother Pablo." Diesel posted a photo of himself and a baby-faced Walker at the 2002 Movie Awards with the caption, "The arduous road to production, the challenging task of filming this latest chapter. The record breaking trailer debut and the shocked world at what the dark road implied... you Pablo have given me strength... purpose and resolve. I promised you we would make something you would be proud of and I pray that we have... miss you."

If Fast and Furious 7 was for Paul, then Fast 8 — excuse me, Fate of the Furious — is from Paul. Or as Diesel likes to call him, his brother Pablo.

Honestly, this is a lot of emotion for me to process on a Toretto Tuesday.
