We Finally Have A Longer Look At Donald Glover‘s 'Atlanta'

Babies, big dreams, and morning breath abound in this new trailer

The new trailer for Donald Glover’s upcoming FX series Atlanta is here, and it seems like we’re in for another small-screen success from the rapper/actor that’ll be well worth the wait.

In this minute-long clip, we’re given plenty to go on, a change-up from the brief Atlanta teasers FX has released so far. Glover plays a young father who’s looking to get in on the action of ATL’s music business, and his cousin, a rapper going by Paper Boi, could very well be the ticket that brings him there.

As XXL reports, Glover’s new endeavor aims to “show people how it felt to be black,” a goal he shared with the Television Critic’s Association. “What was important to me was that this show was personal and had a specific take, because that’s all you can really ask for from a show nowadays, is having a specific point of view on something.”

Atlanta is set to premiere on September 6, and Glover — who not only stars in the series, but serves as its creator and executive producer — will also be celebrating the drop of new Childish Gambino music that same week with his Pharos Festival performances in Joshua Tree National Park.
