‘Love Me Again’ Singer John Newman Reveals His Brain Tumor Has Returned

The frequent Calvin Harris collaborator has assured fans, ‘nothing will ever stop me from making music’

Four years after British singer-songwriter John Newman underwent surgery to remove a benign brain tumor, he’s announced that the growth has returned.

After rumors about his health began circulating earlier this week, the 26-year-old issued a statement confirming his health battle, but assuring fans he’s “one of the lucky ones.”

“This was going to come out at some point and it's probably best it's out in the open now,” he wrote. “There was always a chance that it could return and it is unfortunate but it is something I am prepared to get through when the time is right, some point next year.”

“Nothing will ever stop me from doing the job I love so much, nothing will ever stop me from making music,” he continued. “People shouldn’t worry about me, the prognosis is good and there are so many people in far more serious situations.”

Newman is best known for his 2013 hit “Love Me Again,” as well as his collaborations with producer pal Calvin Harris, including “Blame” and “Faith.” The music video for the pair’s most recent single, “Ole,” premieres tomorrow (August 5) — check out a preview below.
