Tom Felton Makes His Prickly Debut On 'The Flash' In First Look Photos
When Barry Allen used the Speed Force to go back in time and save his mother on The Flash, he really messed things up. Not only does his have to deal with Flashpoint — a.k.a. the crazy paradox he created when he changed the timeline — but as a direct result of his temporal meddling, Barry also gave himself a new career adversary in CSI tech Julian Dorn, played by Harry Potter alum Tom Felton. What a headache you’ve created, Barry.
Felton will make his debut as Barry’s prickly coworker in the second episode of the season, titled “Paradox,” and looking at these newly released photos from the episode, the tension between Barry and Julian is already brewing.
“He’s a direct result of Flashpoint,” executive producer Todd Helbing told EW. “Barry’s had that lab to himself, but now he’s got to share it with this guy, who doesn’t really like him.”
Julian suspects that there’s more to Barry Allen than meets the eye, but can you really blame him for being suspicious? There is something more to Barry than meets the eye. And Julian is a CSI! He’s been trained to pick up on clues. We should honestly be commending him; it took Iris a full season to figure out Barry’s secret superhero identity — and she’s a reporter.
As far as we know, Dorn doesn’t have any connection to the comics, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility that he’s a meta-human. After all, Felton is a series regular this season, which means we’ll be seeing plenty of him in Central City. And we might even see him hanging around the West family. Julian and Joe look pretty close, don’t you think?
The Flash Season 3 premieres Tuesday, October 4.
