Jhené Aiko And Gallant’s ‘Skipping Stones’ Video Is Literally Fire

This is one twisted revenge tale 🔥

Gallant and Jhené Aiko have dropped the video for their beautiful, soulful collab “Skipping Stones,” but only one of them makes it out alive.

The American Millennial–directed clip follows a deadly tale of revenge, as a bloodied Gallant wakes up in the trunk of a car. His captor is none other than Aiko, who contemplates her next move with the cool calculation of a criminal mastermind (or maybe just a pissed-off ex). The whole thing ends in a fiery blaze, and it’s the most anxious you’ll seeing someone trapped in the trunk of a car since Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights.” Or Eminem’s “Stan.” Take your pick.

“Skipping Stones” appears on Gallant’s debut album, Ology, which dropped this past spring. In a press release about the video, the R&B singer said, “I thought that this particular scene would just very naturally, in a very subtly complex way, kind of just illustrate exactly all of the fiery emotions that are coming through lyrically in the song from both perspectives.”

Oh, and in case you were wondering if there are any hard feelings on Gallant’s part, he and Aiko oh-so-nonchalantly reminisced about that whole hostage sitch on Twitter. Ahh, the memories.
