This Tiny Detail You Missed In '13 Reasons Why' Gives The Show A Whole New Meaning

I hope you're ready, because I'm about to tell you the story of "13 Reasons Why," more specifically, a spoiler. And if you're listening to these tapes... then I really hope you already watched the show.

I just don't want to spoil Netflix's new show for you, OK?! Selena Gomez, the executive producer, would never forgive me.

If you're still with me, then you know the hit series follows a group of high schoolers' lives after a peer Hannah Baker commits suicide.

Hannah leaves behind a set of tapes where she explains why she did it, which we experience through the point of view of her friend Clay Jensen.

The show, which is based on the novel by Jay Asher, explores what could happen following bullying, sexual assault and slut-shaming.

Needless to say, it's an incredibly difficult show to watch, especially knowing there is nothing any character can do to help Hannah Baker -- she is already dead.

That said, the final episode may reveal there is some hope to the situation.

During the investigation of Hannah's suicide, the names on her tapes are subpoenaed and the teens are brought in for questioning.

While Zack is being interrogated, we see a camcorder frame with one key detail in the bottom left corner.

Hannah killed herself in either late September or early October, and Clay begins listening to her tapes around Halloween, but this time stamp shows a date that has not happened yet in our world.

If we are judging based on IRL time -- April 13, 2017 -- Hannah is not dead.

While many terrible things have happened to Hannah already, including Justin's friends lying about having sex and being groped by Bryce and Marcus, as of this April, Bryce still did not rape her yet.

On top of that, Jeff is still alive and Mr. Porter hasn't told Hannah to "move on" while trying to report her rape.

Perhaps, the future time stamp is a subtle nod to people witnessing things in real life that they do still have the time to stop or time to reach out and help someone.
