Kate Middleton's blue polka dot dress greatly resembles one of Princess Diana's styles

Now this is a look that has stood the test of time.

On Tuesday at the D-Day: Interception, Intelligence, Invasion exhibition at Bletchley Park in England, Kate Middleton stepped out in a blue-and-white Alessandra Rich dress that reminded royal fans of a frock Princess Diana wore nearly 34 years ago.

The Duchess of Cambridge paired the style with delicate pearl drop earrings, suede heels by Emmy London and a navy purse by Smythson. The mid-length dress with vintage-inspired contrast collar and cuffs as well as large white buttons is nearly identical to a look that Diana wore during a photo shoot at Kensington Palace back in October 1985.

Kate's dress is clearly a favorite of hers as she sported the same style for Prince Charles' official 70th birthday portraits last year. Similar dresses have also been worn by a slew of other stars, including Meghan Markle's pal and former Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer, and Kelly Ripa.

This isn't the first time the 37-year-old royal has taken a style cue from the late Princess of Wales. Check out some of Kate's most regal looks.
