One question stumps stars and designers on the CFDA Awards red carpet

When designers and stars made it to our corner of the world on the 2017 CFDA Awards red (read: pink and blue) carpet on Monday night, we had one fun question to ask them -- but we didn't realize it would stump so many of them.

"What's one fashion 'rule' that you love to break?" Seems simple enough, right? You know: no white after Labor Day, don't mix navy and black, be wary of denim on denim. However, aside from 15-year-old Rowan Blanchard (she wears socks with sandals, and we love her for it), we didn't really get responses like that. One common belief we gleaned, though? Whatever the rules are (if there are any at all), they're meant to be broken.
