TV Netflix debuts first look at new Margaret Atwood miniseries Alias Grace Anna Paquin is part of the period drama's ensemble cast By Sara Vilkomerson Published on May 18, 2017 Photo: Sabrina Lantos/Netflix Netflix is getting in on the Margaret Atwood business. As viewers continue to be entranced by The Handmaid's Tale on Hulu, today that other big time streaming service has revealed their plans — and photos — for a miniseries based on Atwood's 1996 novel Alias Grace, debuting this fall. The award-winning book has been adapted into a six-part miniseries and has an astonishing array of Canadian talent behind it. The project is adapted and produced by Sarah Polley (Away From Her) and directed by Mary Harron (American Psycho). It tells the story of Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon), a servant in Upper Canada who is accused, alongside James McDermott (Ker Logan), of the notorious 1843 murders of her employer, Thomas Kinnear (Paul Gross), and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery (Anna Paquin). Zachary Levi is also part of the cast. Take a look at some of the stills below.
